You probably know that when you have a fractured, chipped, or missing teeth, you should have the problem addressed—especially if you’re interested in protecting your oral health. Fortunately, there are a number of options you should consider, including a dental bridge or a crown.

As you may know, crowns may be useful for strengthening a weakened tooth. For example, with a crown, you can strengthen a tooth that is fractured or cracked. Similarly, you may be able to use a crown to cover a tooth that’s recently had root canal therapy. Our team may also recommend a crown to cover extreme tooth decay.

Conversely, if you’re missing a single tooth—or several consecutive teeth—a bridge may be the option you need. A bridge is a restoration made of artificial teeth that is cemented to healthy teeth on both sides. Please remember that if you have a gap in your smile, your other teeth could shift, and lead to a number of issues.

Fortunately, regardless of the option you choose, crowns and bridges can offer many of the same benefits. Having a crown or bridge placed can improve the appearance of your smile, especially because the size, shape, and color of your restoration can be matched to your natural teeth.
